Universities can’t rely on Magic 8-Ball answers to complex questions either.
As UNC Charlotte grows, we have to ask ourselves.
“What do we want to be?”
The following scenarios were written as a part of an overall scenario planning process for UNC Charlotte and are based on research and group work by UNC Charlotte stakeholders. The scenarios deal with a range of topics uncovered during the process and will be used to guide the University in making strategic decisions as it deals with the following core question:
“What is the future of UNC Charlotte as it continues to grow and expand programs and offerings while shifting to an ever increasing diverse student body, faculty and staff population?”
In all four stories, there is one key assumption – that the population of Charlotte-Mecklenburg will no longer be majority white in 2020, but at parity or with a minority majority population.
